Located in the northwest corner of the valley, Siena Golf Club has established itself as one of the premier courses on the Las Vegas scene. Designed by Schmidt-Curley, this venue in only three years has become a local favorite -- and the word is out to tourists as well.

For beginners and above average players alike, this course features a player-friendly layout that we consider to be among the best combinations of traditional design and desert surroundings in the area. From the back tees, the course measures 6,816 yards and carries a slope of 129, however from the men's front it is just over 6,500 yards.

Better players will be challenged by the strategically placed water features, and fairway bunkers that often come into play. While most fairways are wide and relatively easy to hit, there are some undulations and sloping that will force the player to manage his way around the course. The challenge at Siena comes from the approach shots, where players must consider taking one more club to reach the elevated greens that are apparent on most holes.

Siena Golf Club obviously takes great pride in course conditioning and it is no more apparent than on the putting surfaces. These bent grass greens are as smooth as silk, which gives players the ability to make solid putts and take the score low. Most holes have some undulations, however the shaping of the greens should not cause too many problems or misreads.

Seasonal rates at Siena are much like other courses in Las Vegas that we consider comparable. However, the staff and amenities offered at this facility put it a step above the norm in our book.
